A Free Invoice App for Contractors — No Card, No Trial Clock
Updated 2026-10-08
Free means free, not a countdown
Plenty of invoicing apps call a 14-day trial “free.” Trades Chaser's free plan has no end date and never asks for a card. It's sized for someone just starting out, doing a few jobs on the side, or wanting to run real work through the app before deciding anything.
What the free plan includes
- Up to 3 customers and 5 invoices a month
- Quotes, jobs and the calendar
- Automatic reminders on overdue invoices
- Every payment method you accept shown on the invoice — PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, Stripe, Square, bank transfer
- A no-login customer page where your customer views and pays the invoice
- Works on your phone, and installs to your home screen like an app
What's different on the paid plans
Base removes the customer and invoice limits and adds expense tracking, budgets, job costing, team seats and subcontractor bids. Enhanced adds the AI tools, including the receipt tracker and the AI bill of materials for quotes. Free-plan invoices also carry a small “Invoiced with Trades Chaser” line at the bottom; paid plans don't.
What happens when you hit a limit
Nothing breaks and nothing is deleted. You just can't add a fourth customer, or a sixth invoice in the same calendar month, until you upgrade or the month rolls over. Everything already in the account stays exactly as it was, and upgrading keeps all of it.
Getting started
Create an account, pick the free plan, and add your first customer. There's no card form anywhere in that path, so there's nothing to remember to cancel.
